Picture this: you arrive at our Waukesha, WI facility for first shift, coffee in hand, ready to keep the building humming. You walk the floor, check lighting, note a door closer that needs adjustment, and confirm the HVAC looks good. A service ticket pings—minor drywall patching in a conference room—easy fix. Later, a delivery truck backs in and you hop on a forklift to unload materials safely and efficiently. Before lunch, you assist a contractor with a small electrical component swap. In the afternoon, you update preventive maintenance logs, tidy the tool room, and assemble furniture for a workspace refresh—all while keeping safety front and center.

Role Overview

This temp-to-hire Facilities Infrastructure Operations Technician role supports the smooth, safe, and reliable operation of the site. You’ll perform routine maintenance, help execute preventive maintenance, support licensed trades and vendors, and respond to facility requests with urgency and professionalism.

Location, Schedule, and Pay

• Location: Waukesha, WI
• Employment Type: Temp-To-Hire
• Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift (choose 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
• Compensation: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience

What You’ll Tackle

• Hands-on fixes: Minor drywall repair, door hardware adjustments/repair, lighting component replacement.
• Facility rounds: Proactive inspections of interior and grounds; document findings and follow up.
• Preventive maintenance: Assist with PM tasks for building systems under supervisor guidance.
• Trades support: Work alongside licensed technicians and contractors during repairs, installs, and projects.
• System oversight: Keep watch on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems; promptly report issues.
• Material handling: Operate forklifts to load/unload transport trucks and organize deliveries.
• Workspace setup: Office moves, furniture assembly, and configuration of work areas.
• Inventory and orderliness: Maintain clean, organized storage areas; manage stock and submit restock requests.
• Service response: Resolve minor facility tickets and non-critical emergencies efficiently.
• Safety: Follow established procedures and contribute to a safe, compliant environment.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree/technical certification preferred.
• 1+ years in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related work.
• Working knowledge of building systems and standard maintenance practices.
• Industrial forklift/lift truck operating experience.
• Strong organization and problem-solving abilities; able to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Comfort with maintenance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Clear communicator with solid interpersonal skills.
• Able to lift at least 40 lbs.
